POLICE have arrested a man on suspicion of assault after an incident at an address on Corporation Road in Newport over the weekend.
A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after police were called to the scene at around 5.45pm on Saturday, August 29.
A Gwent Police spokesman said: “Three men were arrested in connection with the incident. Two aged 40 and 20 have been released with no further action. A 38-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assault has been bailed pending further enquiries.”
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We sent a rapid response car and an emergency ambulance to the scene, and the man was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff with serious injuries.”
The man has since been released from hospital.
