EBBW VALE leisure centre will stay shut as investigations are carried out into the collapse of a roof during storms over the weekend.
Heavy rain falling caused the roof of the centre's reception to collapse causing water to cascade down flights of stairs inside the building on Saturday morning.
In a statement on their website Aneurin Leisure, who manage the centre, said that the joint decision between themselves and Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council had been taken to keep the centre and outdoor pitches closed.
The statement confirmed that members can still use Abertillery and Tredegar Sports Centres, which remain open as normal. The number of staff members there have been increased to cope with increased demand it said.
