MINOR: Gwent Police officers are directing traffic following the crash between the bus and car
A CRASH between a bus and car has caused tailbacks on the A48 Southern Distributor Road (SDR) on the route heading into the city.
Officers from Gwent Police arrived at around 6.30pm this evening to start directing traffic following the accident on the road, although the opposite side of the A48, heading out of the city, is moving freely.
The queues are affecting the stretch of road close to the leisure centre in Spytty and Newport International Sport Village, affecting the SDR Bridge.
An eyewitness said that no-one appears to be injured in the crash.
