POLICE are continuing to appeal for information after cash was taken during an armed robbery of a betting office in Newport earlier this month.
The incident took place at Betfred on Caerleon Road at approximately 9.20pm on Saturday June 18.
A man entered the store just before closing armed with what is described as a silver handgun.
The offender is described as a white man possibly in his 40s, standing between five feet nine to five feet eleven inches tall with a medium to stocky build and stubble around his chin.
He demanded money from the staff in the store before leaving with cash from the till.
Staff members were reportedly distressed following the robbery but no one was seriously injured.
A Gwent Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for witnesses or anyone who can help to identify the offender and would ask anyone with information to call 101 quoting incident number 612 18/06/16."
