A WOMAN was found dead after a fire in a flat in Liswerry, Newport, this morning.
Fire crews from Malpas, Maindee and Duffryn were called to Broadmead Park at around 7.50am. On arrival they received reports that someone was still in the property and when they entered the smoke-logged flat they found the body of a woman.
The flat was severely damaged by the blaze. The cause is under investigation by police and the fire service.
