THE DRAW for the first qualifying round of the JD Welsh Cup has been made.
Just 66 days after The New Saints were crowned champions last season, 194 teams went into the hat for Wednesday’s draw at the FAW HQ in Hensol.
A further fifteen tier three sides received a bye into the second qualifying round, based on their league finishes from last year.
There will be two all-Ardal South East ties, with Chepstow Town hosting newly-promoted Blaenavon Blues and Tredegar Town facing Monmouth Town.
Caerleon FC travel to Ardal South East side Brecon Corries.
Croesyceiliog, Newport City and RTB Ebbw Vale all face trips to lower league sides - AFC Pontymister, Cefn Fforest and FC Tredegar respectively.
And in a Newport derby, third-tier Lliswerry AFC host Newport Saints.
The National Cup Board has confirmed that clubs will this season be able to use up to five substitutes, within three substitute periods for all rounds.
The seeding system for round two, which was first introduced last season, will return this year to encourage more ties between larger and smaller sides.
Matches in Qualifying Round One will be played over the weekend of Saturday, July 30 with the draw for the next round taking place on the Monday,.
