SOME of Wales' finest MMA stars will get the opportunity make statement on the world stage this weekend in a stacked Cage Warriors 142 card featuring a key featherweight title showdown, writes Jason Batty.

Cage Warriors have whetted the appetite of Welsh fans over the last 12 months with Cage Warriors Academy events while putting shows on as far as San Diego.

Now Welsh fans can roar on some of their emerging stars at Ebbw Vale Sports Centre on Saturday Night.

The main event sees champion Sam Creasy (15-4), who makes his 15th Cage Warriors appearance, defend his title against Stipe Brcic (10-2).

Croatian Brcic, who is on a five-fight win streak, is currently German MMA promotion EMC featherweight and bantamweight champion.

The card also includes several of Shore Mixed Martial Arts fighters, who will be looking to put on a show in the Welsh valleys.

With 49 professional fights between them, Josh 'Crazy Horse' Reed (12-7) and Romania's Bagdan Bargu (17-13) will be looking to bounce back from their respective submission defeats.

Blaenavon's Reed will be looking to put on a show when he kicks off another title challenge.

Stablemate and fan favourite Oban 'The Welsh Gangster' Elliott (5-2) will also be looking to maintain his momentum and title push when he takes on former Cage Warriors middleweight champion Matt Boner (12-7-1).

Both men possess the dynamite in the hands to make this one of the most anticipated fights of the evening.

Boasting an illustrious amateur career, it has been mixed fortunes for SMMA's Scott Pederson (1-3-1) since kicking off his pro career just under 18 months ago.

The Welshman, who has had a stint at Bellator during that time, now looks to get back to winning ways against flying Dutchman Cherif Larossi.

Completing the quartet of SMMA combatants is Stephanie Paige Evans, who makes her professional bow against fellow debutant Jasmine Favero.

Evans will be hungry to avenge the submission loss she suffered at the hands Favero when both amateurs in 2019.
