GREETINGS to one and all in South Wales, we now have just one day to go before my fight with Bernard Hopkins in Las Vegas and I am as excited and motivated as I have ever been.

It has been very much like a home from home for me here for the past two weeks, I think you all know I would have brought our gym and the Newbridge countryside with me if I could!

The only thing I wouldn't swap is the weather, it has been great getting some sun on my back for a change!

Our villa in Vegas has been absolutely perfect. For the first week it was just me, dad, uncle Sergio and Nathan Cleverly, but now my two boys and girlfriend are out here as well.

We've found a nice private gym nearby in which to do my training and the house has a pool table and a swimming pool so the boys have been happy.

It does take a while to adjust to the conditions over here, it's very dry and it was certainly a wise decision to come early.

We are a good 30 minutes away from the strip and that was a smart choice, I can just about see the lights from our garden but I won't be placing a bet or sipping a drink until after I have won.

This week has been fantastic, Planet Hollywood have hosted some great events for the public and the press.

I am bowled over by the support I am receiving, around 10,000 fans are coming over the pond and it just goes to show that British (and Welsh in particular) fans are the best in the world.

It has been brilliant seeing some familiar faces from the Welsh press as well, they've been waiting as long as me to get out to America!

This is the most I have enjoyed the week leading up to a fight and there is a very simple reason for that, I am not starving!

Normally by this stage I am so desperate to make the weight that I can barely eat, but only having to get down to 12st 7lbs rather than 12st flat is fantastic.

I have obviously eaten sensibly - it doesn't hurt that my uncle is a trained chef - but that being said I am still looking forward to pigging out on Sunday. Some pasta and pizza and a pint of Guiness would be lovely.

Last night we went to a world film premiere of the new Al Pacino movie, a nice distraction from training. I met Pacino and was chuffed to hear he is a fan of mine! He will be watching the fight and and he's tipping me to win. Wise man!

Despite my press commitments I have still been training twice a day all week, first thing in the morning and then in the early evening as well.

I have just returned to the villa from our head-to-head press conference with Hopkins, an event in which he talked and talked and talked and then talked a bit more.

My dad Enzo thought it would be a laugh to give the 43-year old a walking stick, but I don't think B-Hop' found it very funny.

All Hopkins ever does is bang on about all the things he's done in the past, he clearly doesn't have any regard for British fighters and the more he talks the more I want to smash his teeth down his throat.

He keeps banging on about the five years he spent in prison and how that made him tough, physically and mentally.

But to me that just means he was weak before he went in. I am tough, simple as that.

I didn't need to go to prison, I have been dropping sparring partners bigger than me since I was 14 and I intend to drop Hopkins tomorrow.

He's never been stopped and never been cut, but I intend to do both.

He's expecting me to throw 1,000 punches, but I don't need to, I feel more powerful than ever with the extra weight and food I've been able to eat. I would rather throw 600 punches and have half of them be bombs that will hurt him.

Hopkins says he's a southpaw assassin, he has beaten 11 southpaws so his record is good.

But he's never been in with a southpaw as good as me, I don't care what game plan he has, I know I can beat him and I will.

We are expecting Gavin Rees, Gary Lockett and Enzo Maccarinelli shortly who are flying out to support me, it'll be great to see them and shows the spirit of our Newbridge gym is as strong as ever.

Nathan Cleverly has been great company on this trip and a more than useful sparring partner, I've caught him a couple of times but he's done really well.

I am so chuffed that he's on this bill, it has taken me 11 years to get to Vegas and it has taken Nathan 11 fights. Expect him to go 12-0 tomorrow night.

Obviously it is a real shame Bradley Pryce hasn't been able to make the trip, I think the Americans would've loved his style, but at least they get to watch Audley Harrison. Don't even get me started...

So that's all from Vegas. Hope you enjoy the fight, I'm sure you will.
