WALES have named their squad for the 2023 Pinatar Cup in Spain.

Gemma Grainger has selected 27 players in her first Welsh squad of the year, with Sheffield United goalkeeper Bethan Davies receiving her first call up, and the uncapped Safia Middleton-Patel also being named in the squad.

Davies will join up with the team halfway through the tournament as 18-year-old Middleton-Patel will leave the camp early to join up with Cymru Under-19s for their mini-tournament in Portugal.

Defender Gemma Evans could be in line to celebrate a milestone 50th appearance in Spain during the tournament.

Wales will be looking to build on a successful World Cup qualifying campaign, which saw them beat Bosnia and Herzegovina the play-off semi-final before an extra time loss to Switzerland.

This will be the second time Cymru compete in the Pinatar Cup, having finished fourth last year.

Wales beat Scotland 3-1 thanks to a brace from Jess Fishlock – who before losing in the semi-final to Belgium on penalties after a goalless draw.
